Banana Yoshimoto was born in Tokoyo Japan on July 24, 1964. Her real name is YoshimotoMahoko. She is the daughter of Yoshimoto Takaaki, an influential Japanese philosopher. She graduatedfrom Nihon University’s Art College majoring in literature. The pen name “Banana” given to her because her love to banana Flowers. Yoshimoto is known for her writing and was awarded the 39th edition BestNewcomer Artists for her book Kitchen. She also known for her books like Asleep, Goodbye Tusgumi,and the Lake Amirta. Yoshimoto works describe the problems faced by youth and teenagers trapped between imagination and reality. Yoshimoto wrote her books much close to realities of life.
