Edward Estlin Cummings known as E. E. Cummings was born on October 14, 1894, in Cambridge, Massachusetts and die at the age of 67 September 3, 1962. E.E. Cummings was an American poet, painter, essayist, author, and playwright and known for his innovations in style and structure.
Cummings went on to earn both his B.A. and his M.A. by 1916 from Harvard University, where his father taught, before going on to serve in World War I overseas as a volunteer for the ambulance corps.

During his lifetime, Cummings received numerous awards in recognition of his work, including Dial Awards, Harriet Monroe Prize from Poetry magazine, Boston Arts Festival Award and Bollingen Prize in Poetry In 1952. His alma mater, Harvard University awarded Cummings an honorary seat as a guest professor. The Charles Eliot Norton Lectures he gave in 1952 and 1955 were later collected as i: six non-lectures.
